Is Down & Dirty for me?

Although Down & Dirty is a challenging 10k muddy obstacle course. The event is designed for all levels of fitness, the obstacles are not compulsory and we encourage first timers wanting to take the plunge into mud running. You are here to have fun!

What should I wear to run?

Everyone is different when it comes to what they like to wear when running so wear whats comfortable, and bring a change of warm clothing for after the event.

We recommend old running clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty, don’t wear items that hold water and if you want to limit cuts and grazes cover your knees and elbows without restricting yourself when running.

Good running shoes with good grip are recommended, gloves can also be a good idea.

If the sun is out don’t forget your suntan lotion!

Running watches and ipods are not ideal, as you will be submerged in both mud and water at some point during the day.

Do I need to be able to swim?

A basic level of swimming is required to participate in ‘Down & Dirty’

When will I receive my registration pack?

You will receive your wave start time along with a waiver form, no later than a week before you get down & dirty. You must bring this with you on race day, to then collect your race number. (Don’t worry if you forget this on the day, there will be plenty of spares)

What time does the run start?

First wave will start at 10am, we advise you arrive at least 1 hour prior to your allocated start time. This will give you time to use the toilet (several times) re tie your trainers, perform any pre-race rituals, post for your ‘before race’ photo and take part in the race warm up.

We think we have covered everything you would need to know about ‘Down & Dirty’ but if you still have a question, please just ask:
